Wednesday, January 4 at 7 pm ~ Choir Practice

Sunday, January 8 at 10 am- Rev. Kent McKusick will present “Searching for Hidden Wholeness” Quaker theologian Parker Palmer wrote, “I yearn to be whole, but dividedness often seems the easier choice…How can I affirm another’s identity when I deny my own?” What are the risks and/or rewards of seeking (and possibly finding) personal and spiritual wholeness?

Following the service on January 8, musician Irina Kirilenko will be holding a meeting to discuss the formation of a children’s choir.

Please add your donations to the food pantry to the box at the back of the sanctuary.

We are collecting mittens, hats, socks and underwear for our tree in the sanctuary. We will donate the items to Franklin CAP after the service on January 8.

A note from the children of RE:

Thank you for all of the items we have already gathered for the “away from home bags.” We will continue to gather items until the end of January. These are bags for children birth through age 18 who must leave their house in a hurry for whatever reason; whether it is natural disaster or a foster care situation.

Upcoming Meetings

Tuesday January 10 at 6:30 pm ~ Parish Committee Meeting

Tuesday, January 17 at 6 pm ~ RE Committee Meeting

Thursday, January 19 at 6:30 pm ~ Worship Committee

Friday, December 2 ~ Poinsettia Delivery

Friday, Decemberer 2 at 6 pm ~ Your help is needed to set-up for the craft fair and cookie walk, i.e. move RE back toward the Parlor to make room for the vendors and to decorate for the holidays. Please join us to decorate and share a pot luck dinner starting at 6pm or even sooner if you want to get a head start with the decorating. Hope to see you there.

Saturday, December 3, 9 am to 2 pm ~ Craft Fair and Cookie Walk.

We need your cookies! Yes, your cookies! he success of the Cookie Walk is dependent upon having cookies to sell. For the last two years, the options have been small. If everyone could contribute 3 dozen of 3 different kinds, we would be fine.

Help will be needed at the conclusion of the event (Saturday 2 pm) to get things back in order and to return RE back to a workable space for Sunday morning.

Thank you all in advance for your help and support. – Susan Haines

Sunday, December 4 at 10 am ~ Rev. Brendan Hadash will present “Life is a Balloon Ride.”

Sunday, December 11 at 10 am ~ Rev. Ken McKusick will present “The Dark Night of Our Souls” ~ As daylight shortens and winter approaches, we spend more time without light as the Earth enters a time of rest and renewal. Beyond seasonal affective disorder, periods of deep personal pain, loss and despair are often referred to as the dark night of our souls. How can we find rest and renewal during these times?
