The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Franklin Welcomes Rev. Anita!

The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Franklin is pleased to announce that we have hired the Rev. Dr. Anita Farber-Robertson to be our interim, quarter-time minister.  She will lead the first service of the season, our Water Communion, on Sunday, September 16 at 10 am.  All are welcome.

Rev. Anita (the Rev. Dr. Anita Farber-Robertson) served as a settled pastor in congregations in Canton and Swampscott, Massachusetts for a total of 19 years before becoming an Accredited Interim Minister, her chosen specialty. She has served as an interim minister in seven congregations. She has also taught in a variety of capacities at Andover Newton Theological School.

Her book, Learning While Leading, Increasing Your Effectiveness in Ministry was published by Alban Institute, and her essays on other topics have been published in anthologies. She maintains a consulting practice (Learning Edge Consulting) to congregations.

Her deep love and commitment is to congregational life, where the generations come together with their whole selves, bodies, minds, hearts and spirits, to encounter the holy and remember what is of ultimate importance.  Together they develop common support and nurture, and for their own well being of the enhancement of the wider community.

She says: “I am excited about Interim Ministry.  It is a growing time, when the unexpected can happen and be perceived as a window of opportunity and the gift of grace.”

Rev. Anita will present services on the second Sunday of every month.  On the first, third and fourth Sundays, services will be led by guest speakers and members of our community.  We look forward to an exciting year!
